When Roaming Royalty plays live they set out first and foremost to entertain the audience that is in front of them using whatever means they have. Todd and Charles “day” job is doing dueling piano shows in clubs 4 to 5 nights a week, so we have a lot of experience working a crowd. That experience also comes with an understanding that the club owner or promoter is there to make money and we are there to help him or her make money by bringing in and holding and audience.

When we are on tour we do our best to seek out the local college, community or internet radio, any print media that writes about music, and music blogs and we do whatever we can to let people know we have a good show for them if they will come out. We’ll do acoustic shows on the street, or show up and play in people’s living rooms if it means promoting a show.

Here’s a video for what we called to Balloon Show ’cause we had all these oversized balloons for the audience to play with. It was great how something silly like big balloons set the atmosphere for a great time.

We also can do a show as a duo where we just use 2 keyboards. This works for us when we want to play in a smaller venue like a coffee shop. We can still do a very entertaining show as a duo and frequently we can do an acoustic show somewhere as a teaser for our nightime show with the band.

The player on the sidebar has a way to stream songs from our album Audio Bacon which makes up much of our set list, but we do some well placed covers like “Common People” by Pulp or “Death on 2 Legs” by Queen and we almost always have a segment in every show where we will play the weirdest or funniest request we get from the audience.
